Clara Wieck Schumann
Clara Schumann was another composer that wasn't as well known.  Her Husband Robert Schumann was a very popular composer but Clara's compositions didn't become well known until fairly recently.

*Important note!  I did not recognize the difficulty level of  Clara's code activity this week.  There is a mistake with the way it was created.  Do not complete it.  Just read the information on Clara Schumann.  Sorry about that!

Gioachino Antonio Rossini
You probably know Rossini's best know piece as the theme for the Lone Ranger.  It s called the "William Tell Overture."  Rossini was known for his Operas.  Operas are musical plays, where the story is told by singing.

Haydn was a composer from Austria.  His most recognizable piece of music is his "Surprise Symphony".  He didn't name it that but it surprised the listeners so people began calling it that.

    The activities are ordered and you can do them at your own pace.  You can do them all or one per week. Start with Activity 1.  Click on it and read the instructions.  If you enjoy an activity, feel free to do it more than once!

    Music can be beneficial to creating a calm environment during times of stress.  Sometimes it is good to put on quiet and calming music to increase focus and calm minds.  Classical and baroque music is particularly good for this although if you really don’t like it, you can play anything you wish.
     Here are other simple activities you can do to keep music in your lives.   Some will work better for you than others.

    • Listen to some music and draw a picture.
    • Learn the words to a song.
    • Make instruments out of recycling.
    • Watch a video of a concert online.
    • Learn about the instruments you have at your house.
